2017 Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Shows Prize List Now Available Online

North Salem, NY – The Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Shows will be held on May 9-21, 2017, with two consecutive weeks of Fédération Équestre Internationale (FEI) at Old Salem Farm in North Salem, NY. The prize list and schedule for these events are now available online at www.oldsalemfarm.net.

The 2017 Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Shows continue a longstanding tradition of top sport with premier-rated hunters and USEF 5* and USEF 6* jumpers each week, as well as CSI 2* and 3* competition, offering international jumper riders the opportunity to gain coveted Longines FEI World Ranking points. Entries for the 2017 Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Show are due on Friday, April 7, 2017.

“We make an effort every year to improve the exhibitor experience at the Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Shows,” said Michael Morrissey, Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Shows manager. “We have added an additional 1.45/1.50m grand prix to the schedule and tailored the classes in each ring to make for more efficient days. We have also retained many of the more popular events, including Under 25 classes, a hunter derby, and a spectator-favorite national jumper derby on the grand prix field.”

Highlights at the 2017 Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Shows include: the $15,000 Old Salem Farm Speed Derby, a $5,000 Equitation Challenge, and CSI 2* jumper competition culminating with the $50,000 Old Salem Farm Grand Prix, presented by The Kincade Group, in Week 1. Week 2 offers a $10,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby and three grand prix events with the $130,000 Empire State Grand Prix, presented by The Kincade Group, closing out the show on Sunday, May 21.

Old Salem Farm is also proud to present an Under 25 jumper division for riders making the transition into the grand prix ranks from junior competition. Also in 2017, a $5,000 Grooms’ Class will honor the grooms of the horses, and $5,000 leading rider awards will be presented in both hunter and jumper divisions.

Outside the ring, the iconic Old Salem Farm double-decker VIP tent offers exhibitors and spectators the opportunity to enjoy the horse show in style with an unbeatable view and luxurious catering. Old Salem Farm is also proud to offer visitors to the Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Shows dining options from the Clock Tower Grill pop-up restaurant and food truck, family-friendly activities including pony rides, face painting, and more, as well as shopping from equestrian, apparel, and lifestyle vendors.

The 2017 Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Shows will kick off May 7 with the popular Welcome Day, featuring hunter and jumper competition including the Jockey Club Thoroughbred Incentive Program (T.I.P.) classes, sponsored by the Malloy Family.
