In Memory of Codarco

The Jumper Nation family expresses their condolences upon hearing that Chloe Reid’s mount, Codarco, unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, February 6th. Chloe shared the news through a touching post on Instagram, retelling the first moment that she met the handsome Irish Sporthorse stallion.

Dear Cody, The day I first sat on you was the worst trial I have ever had. I was so incredibly nervous and intimidated by your power that I couldn’t find a distance. I will never forget how we trotted into the combination and crashed out through the oxer, yet you continued to keep jumping and safely carry me around. While I’ve had numerous riders tell me over the years that they tried and passed on the opportunity to purchase you, I will feel forever fortunate that you choose me to be your rider. Even though you could have had way more success with any of the more experienced riders, I was the lucky one who got to take you home. Thank you for being my partner of a lifetime. You are leaving so many people heartbroken and one little girl who will never forget you. Rest easy my fluffy minion 01.01.2007 – 02.06.2018 Please respect his honor and my team to gather all the answers of why we lost him so soon.

Codarco (Darco X Vereedom G) and Chloe paired together to bring home several top five finishes for the United States, including a second-place finish at WEF in the $150,000 Nations Cup CSIO 4* in March of 2017 and taking home third in the Longines Falsterbo Grand Prix later that year. The duo made their 2018 debut in January at WEF with a top twenty finish out of sixty top notch competitors.

In 2017 Chloe rode on the USA FEI Nations Cup Jumping Final Team, the CSIO3* Samorin Nations Cup Team, and the CSIO5* Falsterbo Nations Cup Team. Codarco led her to several successes while representing the US internationally and all of Team Reid LLC will greatly miss his presence in the barn.

In memory of this incredible horse, we are sharing some of the breathtaking rounds the duo shared together. All of Jumper Nation shares our love with Chloe and the rest of Team Reid LLC during this difficult time.
