Long Spot Mondays

As dawn breaks on another crisp early fall morning, birds chirping, pumpkin spice lattes brewing, and a week of work calling, sometimes we all just want to hide under our beds and tell the birds to shut their traps. To celebrate what is basically just one whole day of what feels like repeatedly missing your distance, we’re introducing Long Spot Mondays. You can submit your own long spot to us anytime by using the hashtag #longspotmondays on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, or shoot an email to your loyal managing editor at lorraine@nationmediallc.com.

Tell us a little about yourself, your horse, and how came to your find yourself mid-long spot!

Today’s long spot winner is Kayla Joyce, who is currently a student at University of Connecticut and is leasing Solo, an off the track Thoroughbred. She and Solo found a couple awkward spots in this line, but they persevered with the most important piece of equipment you own: A smile!

So Solo thought he was Superman today #failfriday ? I love Sarah's "you looked like an eventer there" in the background. I felt really bad for getting left behind and gave him lots of pats after, don't worry. Other than this, we did really well today and I'll post some of the good videos soon! … I don't have it on video but he also did this line as a 2 stride! Which I wouldn't have believed two weeks ago given how lazy he can be and how he needs to build confidence jumping. So proud of him for having the confidence even if it was supposed to be a 3/4 stride line❤ #equestrian #showjumping #jumpers #horses #horsesofinstagram #ottb #ottbsofinstagram #ottblove #chestnut #longspot #overachievers #superman #ibelieveicanfly #eskadron #thinline
