Spanish Victory in the IFEMA Trophy Class at Madrid Horse Week

The CSI2*, IFEMA Trophy  with a height of 1.40m and a very technical course saw only 8 riders of the 49 participating into the second round at Madrid Horse Week. The Spanish riders made a good showing on their home soil, taking five of the eight slots.

The Spaniard Alvaro Díaz García finished in first place riding Visama Parsifal, in a time of 23.03 seconds. Second was the Portuguese Luis Sabino Goncalves, riding Filou Egyptian Empire, in a time of 23.78 seconds. Otti Verdu, winner of the MHW Trophy held this morning, continues accumulating podiums finishing in third place riding Top Lulu, a mare who has only been in her stable for two months and was competing with the Olympic rider Eduardo Álvarez Aznar.

Manuel Añón Suárez and Jaime Silvela Castañon, and Paloma Barceló Martínez are the rest of the Spanish riders who did the course without faults to finish in the top ten.

Lillie Keenan and Concho were among the top placers, having been the fastest of the four-fault riders and coming back with a screaming time in the second round of 22.95 – in fact the fastest second round of the day. They would finish in ninth.

Emily Moffitt and It’s Real Love v. Smis Z finished in 24th place with a first round score of four faults and a time of 46.17 seconds.
