Scott Stewart won the 2016 Green Hunter Incentive Championship last year at the Kentucky Horse Park, and he looked poised to make a statement of reprisal on day one … until he got bested by nine full points by Victoria Colvin and Flint.

Scott Stewart and Fashion Farm’s Playbook made winning a tall order by score an 87, 88, and 88 on the first day of the  Platinum Performance/USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Championships for a total score of 263. Ride after ride would try and catch him, but they appeared unbeatable.

The six-year-old Holsteiner, Flint, owned by Mark and Stephanie Ingram, had other ideas. He and Tori took the high options all the way around and made it look freakishly effortless, scoring a 90, 90, and 92 for a final score of 272.

As one of the final combinations of the day Victoria Colvin, LLC and Flint scored a 272 to capture the win in Round 1 of the Platinum Performance/USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Championship ! We'll be back Live tomorrow with Round 2 at 9:30am ET on EQSports.Net.

“He was really spectacular today,” said Tori after their win. “He’s really good in a bigger, open ring – it catches his attention. He’s such a beautiful horse to look at, so he has that on his side. He’s a very funny character. He acts like a young baby, but he’s not. He gets it together. He goes in the ring and he’s got it. He’s the quietest thing you’ll ever see in your entire life.”

There will be a second round of showing on Wednesday, where the horses will try to make the top 30 t0 come back for the Championships Thursday night on a clean slate score. Tori says she plans to do a light ride Wednesday morning and cross their fingers for another late draw in the order, but “he’ll go whenever he goes.”
