Prize List Now Available for Chicago Hunter Derby

Event Features $50,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby, $5,000 USHJA National Derby and New $2,500 Pony Hunter Exhibition Class! 

Antioch, Illinois – The prize list for the 2016 Chicago Hunter Derby, presented by Canadian Pacific (CP), is now available online at the website, www.ChicagoEquestriansForACause.com, or CLICK HERE to view.

Now in its ninth year, the Chicago Hunter Derby returns to Annali-Brookwood Farm in Antioch, IL, on September 10 and 11 and will feature a $50,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby, a $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby, and a newly-added $2,500 Pony Hunter Exhibition Class.

“Thanks to the great support of our sponsors, as well as the support of the exhibitors and spectators, we’ve been able to bring something new to the event each year,” said Lynn Jayne of Chicago Equestrians for a Cause, the organization behind the Chicago Hunter Derby. “We’re looking forward to hosting the pony derby for the first time this year, as well as continuing to improve upon the USHJA International and National derbies.”

Prior to the start of the weekend’s highlight hunter derby classes, competition kicks off on Friday, September 9, with the $7,500 International Hunter Derby Welcome Stake and the $2,500 National Hunter Derby Welcome Stake, both presented by Corporate Way and Sea Change Farm.

On Saturday morning the first horse in the $5,000 USHJA National Derby, presented by Sapphire Riding Academy, will go on course at 10 a.m., followed by the first round of the $50,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby, presented by CP, beginning at 2:30 p.m. Competition culminates on Sunday with the $2,500 Pony Hunter Exhibition Class at 9:30 a.m. and the featured second round of the USHJA International Hunter Derby kicking off at 1 p.m. Click here to view the complete schedule.

The Chicago Hunter Derby is thrilled to welcome back 2016 USHJA International Hunter Derby Finals course designer Bobby Murphy as the designer of this year’s courses. Presiding as judges over all three days of competition will be Rick Fancher, Brian Lenehan, Rob Bielefeld, and John Roper.
