Our hearty JN congratulations to Irish show jumper Cian O’Connor and his wife Ruth, who last night welcomed daughter Cara Louise O’Connor into the world. The couple already have a three-year-old son, Benjamin who will surely be a very doting and protective older brother!
It is surely a massive weight of Cian’s shoulders to be home to see his daughter’s birth and find wife and baby happy and healthy, as tomorrow night he’ll be catching a flight to Doha, Qatar for the finale of the Global Champions Tour.
Hopefully Cara will be a lucky clover for dad going into the big finale, though he’s been on a fine winning streak all on his own, recently taking an emotional win at Horse of the Year in Birmingham at the beginning of October and a big class at Spruce Meadows in September.
Our well wishes to the family of four, and we hope they can enjoy their few precious hours together before Dad heads back to the office!
