Gladstone, N.J. – July 5, 2016 – On Wednesday, the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) named the U.S. Olympic Show Jumping Team — the last athlete-and-horse combinations selected to represent the U.S. at the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. With teams now selected in all four disciplines and preparing for Rio, the United States Equestrian Team (USET) Foundation is pleased to announce an exciting new opportunity for donors who support athletes in Rio and beyond during the 2016 Games.

Equestrian fans can contribute to the USET Foundation by making a donation in honor of their favorite 2016 Olympic/Paralympic equestrian athlete. If the athlete chosen goes on to win a medal, the donor will receive a limited edition, autographed photo of that athlete from the Games.  “We’re really excited about the Olympic and Paralympic Games, our U.S. teams are strong and we are thrilled to be able to offer donors a special keepsake from the Games,” said USET Foundation Executive Director, Bonnie Jenkins.

In order to make a contribution, donors can visit www.uset.org/home/donate-now/ and enter the name of their favorite athlete in the Honor/Memorial field.  Or, they can send a check to the USET Foundation at PO Box 355, Gladstone, NJ, 07934 and indicate the name of the athlete on the check.

For more than 65 years, equestrian athletes have represented the United States in international competition, bringing home medals that have clearly established the United States as among the world’s equestrian elite. However, dedication, hard work and dreams alone do not bring home medals. The costs of fielding international teams are enormous. Training, coaching and transporting of human and equine athletes around the world in order to compete against the sport’s best athletes is a daunting undertaking, requiring a huge commitment of time and money.

Be a part of history and show your support of the 2016 U.S. Olympic and Paralympic equestrian teams by donating to the USET Foundation during the 2016 Olympic Games! Your contributions will help our athletes bring home medals and demonstrate the excellence of American horsemanship for the entire world to see in Rio.

The USET Foundation is the nonprofit organization that supports the competition, training, coaching, travel and educational needs of America’s elite and developing international, high-performance horses and athletes in partnership with USEF.
