Thunderbird Show Park in Langley, Canada hosts one of our favorite legs of the Nations Cup anywhere in the world, and aside from being a beautiful venue and a well-oiled machine, it’s just got a little magic *something*. A healthy dose of Canadian friendliness and understated moxie.
For example, this might be the funkiest show jumping highlights reel of all time, submitted without apology. Even better, it features a MAGNIFICENT win by longtime heroine and fierce little fighter Margie Engle aboard the iconic Royce.
With seven fierce competitors in the jump-off vying for their share of the $130,000 Atco Nations Cup Finale prize, Margie really had to go for it, and her final few strides to the finish flags might be some of the fiercest you’ll ever see on Canadian soil.
Equally satisfying, the post-win interview with our own American firecracker after she took the top spot:
Thanks for a great Nations Cup weekend, T-bird, and a big congratulations to Team USA and Team Canada on their qualifications to the Nations Cup Final in September!
