Yes, Bertram Allen Really Did Win Three Cars in 24 Hours. Again.

Oh Bertie. Every time I see a picture of Bertram Allen standing in front of a brand new luxury vehicle (which we’ve seen nine times altogether) I have to ask myself if he really is old enough to drive any of them. At 21 he’s more than capable of cruising in any number of his free rides, and considering his piloting skills astride a horse, I’d certainly feel confident as his passenger.

In the past 24 hours Bertram managed to outgrow his current garage by 50%, adding three new cars to the list of Grand Prix winnings during an epic weekend at the Sweden International Horse Show.

Bertie and his increasingly iconic gray mare Molly Malone managed to collect a Volkswagen Tiguan Saturday night for winning a speed class, and then won the Grand Prix Sunday afternoon, for which the prize was also a new Volkswagen.

For his two dominant victories and top placings in Sweden, he was named the show’s leading rider. And what does the leading rider get for that level of top notch performance? You guessed it. Another Volkswagen.

At this rate, he’s going to have to start selling grand prix horses to make room for his new rides that don’t have to be fed, shod, or exercised all winter.

As it happens, Bertie won the same number of cars at the same venue last year. Congratulations on a cracking few rounds, Bertram, and hey, can I get a ride?

Go Jumping.
