2017 Capital Challenge Horse Show Prize List Now Available! 

Upper Marlboro, Maryland – The prize list for the 2017 Capital Challenge Horse Show, presented by the World Equestrian Center, is now available online here.

The 24th edition of the horse show will be held September 29 – October 8 at Prince George’s Equestrian Center in Upper Marlboro, MD.

Entries for the 2017 show also opened at 12 p.m. EST on Wednesday, August 2, and will close on September 1. To submit entries or to learn more about the electronic entry process, please visit https://entries.showmanagementsystem.com.

The horse show kicks off on Friday, September 29, with a newly-expanded Equitation Weekend, presented by Biqeq.com, featuring the inaugural United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA) 3’3” Jumping Seat Medal Final – East, the North American Adult Amateur Equitation Championships, the Palm Beach International Academy North American Junior Equitation Championships, and the Taylor Harris Insurance Services (THIS) National Children’s Medal Finals.

Following the conclusion of Equitation Weekend and beginning on Monday, October 2, the Capital Challenge Horse Show is proud to again host the nation’s best hunter horses and riders. Throughout the week, the show will offer WCHR Hunter Challenges for amateurs, adults, juniors, children, ponies, developing professionals, and professionals, including the highlight $25,000 WCHR Professional Challenge on Wednesday, October 4. Spectators will also get to watch the top six hunter riders in the country go head-to-head in the $5,000 WCHR Professional Finals on Friday, October 6, following the Ariat National Adult Medal that afternoon.

Also unique to the Capital Challenge Horse Show, and a special part of the hunter competition each year, is the $25,000 3’ and 3’3” Green Hunter North American Championships, sponsored by the Wheeler Family and Radwanski Enterprises, to be held Wednesday, October 4.

In the jumper divisions, highlights include the $10,000 North American 1.30m-1.35m Medium Junior/Amateur Owner Classic, sponsored by Johnson Horse Transportation; the $10,000 Children’s Jumper Classic; the $10,000 1.10m Adult Amateur Jumper Classic, sponsored by Radwanski Enterprises; and the newly added 1.20m-1.25m Low Junior/Amateur Jumper division.

In addition to being available online, prize lists will be mailed to all competitors who have participated in the show in the last three years and to those requesting a hard copy. Hard copy requests can be made by emailing Michele atmmarkward@capitalchallenge.org.
