2018 Upperville Colt and Horse Show Prize Now Available Online

The prize list for the 2018 Upperville Colt & Horse Show (UCHS), presented by St. Bride’s Farm, is now available online. The annual event will take place Monday, June 4, through Sunday, June 10, at the Grafton and Salem Farm Showgrounds. Class specifications, rules, awards, prize money distribution and a full schedule can all be accessed in the prize list.

The Upperville Colt & Horse Show, a FEI-ranked CSI4* event, attracts hundreds of world-class equestrians who compete in disciplines ranging from show jumping, hunters and equitation to local ponies, in-hand breeding, sidesaddle and racing Jack Russell Terriers. In addition to its CSI4* designation, the competition also boasts a Premier “AA” and Level 6 jumper rating with the USEF, VHSA and MHSA and is a World Championship Hunter Rider (WCHR) recognized show.

Changes to the class line-up this year include: a new class in the Hunter Breeding section for the Amateur Handlers; doubled prize money in the Huntland Conformation Hunter Challenge series, sponsored by Dr. Betsee Parker; and increased prize money in the Young Jumper Division, sponsored by Caliburn Farm.

The 2018 UCHS will culminate with the highlight event, the $216,000 Upperville Jumper Classic CSI4*, on the final day, presented by Lugano Diamonds and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Smith. Other feature classes throughout the week include the $40,000 Welcome Stakes CSI4*, presented by BOWA, Washington Fine Properties (Jim Thompson) and Wiseman & Associates, the $35,000 Upperville Speed Stakes CSI4*, presented by Valley Proteins, the $30,000 Upperville National Grand Prix, presented by the Palm Beach Masters Series, and the $25,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby, sponsored by Salamander Resort and Spa.

As the oldest horse show in the United States, spectators and exhibitors have been traveling to the heart of horse country in Upperville for this can’t-miss event. The team is looking forward to celebrating the 165th anniversary of the show and is confident that this year’s event will be the best one to date.
