Ava Stearns of North Run Stables is having the run of a lifetime after a year of grueling work in the Equitation Division, and has proven to be a tough competitor who is peaking at the perfect moment at this year’s Washington International Horse Show.
She handily won the opening hunter round of the Lindsay Maxwell Charity Fund WIHS Equitation Finals with an 89.0, and with a fast and silky smooth round in the jumper phase, she proved unbeatable once again with a jumper round score of 89.25, and she’ll carry that mathematical and psychological advantage into the work-off against nine other ferocious competitors hoping to play spoiler.
Those nine competitors include Taylor St. Jacque, who has won multiple other Equitation Championships this season, former Maclay Final winner McKayla Langmeier, and cross-over wunderkind Brian Moggre, all of whom and more will hope to leave an undeniable impression on the judges in the final contest when competitors will switch horses and be tested with a gauntlet of final tasks.
The final work-off happens TONIGHT at 7pm ET – make sure you’re following Jumper Nation’s Instagram Story to see all the highlights and follow along!
