Wellington, Florida – January 31, 2016 – Lucy Deslauriers of New York, NY, earned a $1,000 bonus in the SSG Gloves ‘Go Clean for the Green’ promotion by winning the $10,000 Sleepy P Ranch High Junior Jumper Classic while wearing SSG ‘Digital’ riding gloves on Sunday, January 31, at the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) in Wellington, FL.

From a starting field of 13 entries, Deslauriers was the only rider to navigate the first round track, set by course designer Luc Musette of Belgium, without faults. Riding Hester, Deslauriers took the win without the need for a jump-off, as well as a $1,000 SSG Gloves bonus thanks to her loyalty to SSG ‘Digital’ style riding gloves.
Week 3’s win marked the second SSG Gloves ‘Go Clean for the Green’ victory for Deslauriers, having won a High Junior Jumper Classic during last year’s WEF while wearing her SSG ‘Digitals’.
“The gloves are cool, comfortable and great for both the jumpers and equitation, which is really helpful when you’re running back and forth between different rings,” said Desluariers, 16. “I wear them all the time, not just when they have the bonus, and it feels great to win.
“I think it’s a great promotion, a fun series, and it’s a good incentive for the company to provide for us riders,” added Deslauriers of the SSG Gloves promotion, now in its sixth year.
Trainer and proud father Mario Deslauriers was standing by following his daughter’s win, and joked that while he will let her keep the bonus money, it will probably be used to buy a new show jacket.
Deslauriers and Hester have plans to move up to bigger competition during the 2016 season, while one of her younger mounts, Hamlet, will likely continue competing with Deslauriers in the High Junior Jumper division.

Earlier in the week, 2008 Canadian Olympic Champion Eric Lamaze claimed his second $3,000 bonus in a row from SSG Gloves following his win riding Rosana du Park in the $35,000 Ruby et Violette WEF Challenge Cup Round III.
The SSG Gloves “Go Clean for the Green” promotion offers $60,000 in bonus money to riders throughout the 12-week WEF competition running January 13 through April 3, 2016, in Wellington, FL. A $3,000 bonus is offered each week to the winner of the WEF Challenge Cup if they are wearing SSG ‘Digital’ style riding gloves with the horsehead logo clearly visible in all rounds of competition. In the weekly Maybach – Icons of Luxury High Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic and the Sleepy P High Junior Jumper Classic competitions, a $1,000 bonus is on offer if the winning rider is wearing SSG ‘Digital’ style riding gloves with the SSG Gloves horse head logo clearly visible in all rounds of competition.
SSG ‘Digital’ Riding Gloves are available for purchase at numerous Wellington locations, including Tackeria, as well as on-site at the Winter Equestrian Festival show grounds at various retailers, including Running Fox.
