The Split Rock Jumping Tour got underway Wednesday with the first of two weeks of international show jumping competitions held at the Brave Horse Show Park. The Columbus International CSI 2* runs September 26-30, followed by the Longines FEI World Cup Jumping Columbus CSI3*-W, October 3-7.
Todd Minikus and Indy Van De Roten, a 10-year-old mare owned by Autumn View Farm, galloped away with the win in the $2,500 National Jumping 1.40 m class with no penalties in a time of 58.200, narrowly edging out I Dottori Vd Richter, a 10-year-old gelding also ridden by Minikus and owned by Todd Minikus Ltd., who completed the course fault free in 58.585 seconds.
The National 1.30m competition gave Minikus another one-two finish as Autumn View Farms’ Enzo completed the course flawlessly in 57.780 to win, just ahead of Chaco 34, owned by Maidensway, who finished in 60.998 seconds.
Matthias Hollberg piloted Dubai to win the National 1.10m competition. Their clean round in 56.064 seconds earned them the win.
The first day’s action culminated with the FEI Jog for the international competitors. Riders representing eight nations presented 52 horses to the Ground Jury and Veterinarians for inspection before they begin competition on Thursday.
