Our newly minted Olympians are mostly taking it easy this weekend as they prepare to head to the CHIO Aachen in Germany that begins next week. Beezie Madden, Mclain Ward, Lucy Davis, Kent Farrington, and traveling reserve rider Laura Kraut are competing on their Olympic mounts in arguably the second-biggest show of the year next weekend; a major test in the final lead-up to Rio. Chef d’Equipe Robert Ridland will of course be on hand, as well.
Tori Colvin, Margie Engle, and Kevin Babington are entered in the Great American Grand Prix II at the Lake Placid Horse Show.
Kristin Hardin has two horses — Bert and Firestone S entered in the $15k Grand Prix as well as Caruso’s Barichello Z in the $5,000 National Hunter Derby at the Huntington Beach Classic.
Hunter Holloway has a legitimately enormous string of horses at the Colorado Horse Park for Summer in the Rockies V, and has already done a nice job sweeping up the pre-green hunter classes. She’s also entered in the $20k open welcome stake!
Schuyler Riley, Emily Moffitt, Lauren Hough, and Kimberly Prince are all in Cascais Estoril Portugal for the Longines Global Champions Tour.
