If you’ve got a hankering for horse show sounds to get you through another slow afternoon at the office, you’re in luck! We’ve got two hours of World Cup Qualifying goodness for you to the sweet melody of accents from the land down under.
The Royal Melbourne Show was held Saturday afternoon, and in addition to regional and world class jumping, the event also featured native stock horse, Clydesdale, and OTTB classes. I’m a sucker for a show with a little country fair flair!
Additionally, it’s always fascinating to see the distinction of a regional riding style. Compare this to the popular styles in the American ring, and the Australians seem to have generally a lot of energy and forwardness. They seem to always be going for the least strides at every fence, with an open hip like an eventer driving to the element. There’s always so much to be learned from each other!
