Iñigo López de la Osa Escribano Claims CSI2* Equestre Trophy at Madrid Horse Week

The fourth edition of Madrid Horse Week started Thursday with the official inauguration of the event, which has had a ribbon cutting ceremony, performed by the Spanish model and actress Patricia Conde, followed by a carousel parade of the Royal Guard. Competitions started later on in the day.

The first competition was the CSI2 * Equestre Trophy, a two-phase contest at the height of 1.25m. Spanish rider Iñigo López de la Osa Escribano riding Cassunta Z finished first in a time impossible to beat of 31.42 seconds. The Belgian Jessica Geurts was second, riding Hunter van Berimar in a time of 32.03 seconds. And following closely, her compatriot Emilie Conter finished in third position riding Cesanna and in a time of 32.45 seconds.

The next Spaniard in the classification was Álvaro Alfonso Gómez, riding Hoznayo, a national horse, in a time of 33.43 seconds.

American Lillie Keenan was the only yankee entered in the two-star class; she finished her pair of horses – Concho and Be Gentle in 29th and 30th place respectively. Concho was clear but the slowest of the clear rounds. Be Gentle had one time fault in the first round. Both horses will be returning to the ring later in the week.
