NAL Alters Ranking Policy for 2019/2020 Show Season

In light of the changes to the horse show season caused by the Coronavirus pandemic, the North American League (NAL) is altering its policy on how riders may earn points for the 2019/2020 season.

Riders can show in as many classes as they like but will be able to count their best 8 shows towards the national standings and best 5 shows for the West Coast standings.

The NAL season runs from September 1 to August 31. Finals are still scheduled for the West Coast at the International Jumping Festival, hosted by Blenheim EquiSports, in San Juan Capistrano, CA, September 16-20 with National Finals at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show in Harrisburg, PA, October 8-17.

“Given the changes to the horse show world, we feel that this is the fairest way to move forward,” said Annette Longenecker of Ryegate Show Services which produces the NAL. “As horse shows return to action, we think this policy for the balance of this season is in everyone’s best interest.”
