Prudent and Andrade Speed To Victory at Split Rock Jumping Tour’s Inaugural Columbus International CSI 2*

Columbus, OH – September 27, 2017 – With entries sold out for both weeks, the Split Rock Jumping Tour’s (SRJT) two inaugural FEI Columbus horse shows at the new Brave Horse Show Park in Johnstown, Ohio, action got underway with speed classes and the FEI Jog.

Adam Prudent, Wellington, FL, started the show off with a win in the 1.30 Meter Speed class, besting a starting field of 105 entries to grab top honors with his mount Douwe, owned by Atlas Equine Holdings, with a clear round in a time of 51.903 seconds. A full second slower, Emanuel Andrade, representing Venezuela, with his Belita, were second in 52.913. Third place went to Alejandro Karolyi also representing Venezuela and Arena Du Pachis ET, owned by Monica Carrera. The pair completed the course designed by Alan Wade in a time of 53.584 seconds.

Emanuel Andrade returned to the winner’s podium as he took first and second place honors in the next class. Andrade took his victory lap for the 1.40 Meter Speed class with his mount, Jenni’s Choice, dripping in swag and a huge smile on his face. Andrade’s winning ride was completed in 58.517 seconds. He was almost two seconds slower with Gran Mamut, owned by Alder International Management Company, who finished the track in 60.245 seconds. Peter Lutz, Goldens Bridge, NY, with Sam 1091, owned by the rider and QBS Equestrian were third in a time of 60.617.

The opening day culminated with the presentation of the horses which will compete in the FEI classes during the SRJT Columbus International CSI 2*. Presented in hand before a panel of veterinarians, each horse must trot and prove he or she is sound to compete. All 77 of the horses presented were accepted to compete in the division, assuring an exciting event.

Now in its third year, the SRJT is truly revolutionizing the sport several of show jumping in the U.S. and creating an “Unparalleled Show Jumping Experience” for riders, owners, sponsors and spectators alike. SRJT’s top-notch competitions are again attracting top international riders and some of the biggest names in the sport.

Over 50 riders from 13 countries are entered in the FEI classes. The line-up features U.S. Olympic veterans Leslie Burr-Howard, Team Gold medalist at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games and Team Silver medalist at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics; Peter Wylde, Team Gold medalist at the 2004 Athens Olympics; and Margie Goldstein-Engle, who competed at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and won the Leading Athlete award at the inaugural SRJT event in 2015. Joining them is Charlie Jayne, who was the reserve rider for the U.S. team at the 2012 London Olympics.

Other Olympic veterans competing at SRJT-Columbus include Venezuela’s Emanuel Andrade, a competitor at the 2016 Rio Olympics; Samuel Parot of Chile, who competed at the 2012 London Olympics; Sharn Wordley of New Zealand, a competitor at the 2008 Beijing Olympics; and Mexico’s Santiago Lambre, who rode at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.

Also entered are the riders who won Split Rock’s CSI3* Grand Prix the last two Octobers – 2016 Bourbon International CSI3* Champion Ilan Bluman of Colombia and U.S. rider Jonathan McCrea who won in 2015. McCrea’s wife, Christine McCrea, Individual and Team Gold medalist at the 2011 Pan American Games, is also entered and will be hot on their heels in a run for the prize money.

Schedule highlights for SRJT include:

Week 1: The Columbus International 1 CSI2* – September 27-October 1
The FEI rated classes include the $35,000 CSI2* 1.45m Hollow Creek Farm Welcome Class and the $50,000 Lugano Diamonds CSI2* Grand Prix. There will be divisions ranging from .85m and up available for both weeks.

Week 2: The Columbus International 2 CSI3* – October 4-8
The FEI classes include the $35,000 CSI3* 1.45m Hollow Creek Farm Speed Cup, $40,000 Amalaya Investments CSI3* 1.50m Welcome Class and the $130,000 CSI3* 1.55m Split Rock Farm Grand Prix.

“Lugano Diamonds Party” with Bonus Private Concert
The highly anticipated SRJT social event, “The Lugano Diamonds Party,” will take place at Brave Horse on Friday evening, October 6. Admission is $150 per person. Following the dinner, there will be a private concert, included in the dinner admission, by well-known country singer, Sam Riggs!

About Brave Horse Show Park

The new facility is a 75-acre premier equestrian showgrounds located minutes outside of Columbus in Johnstown, Ohio. The facility debuted its first hunter/jumper show season in 2016 and operated at capacity. The showgrounds feature a meticulously planned layout with 250 permanent stalls, each measuring 12’x12′, with 16′ aisle ways and a 20′ high ceiling.
