Split Rock Jumping Tour’s New Santa Fe International CSI2* Gets Underway

The newest event on the Split Rock Jumping Tour (SRJT), the Santa Fe International CSI2*, opened Wednesday at HIPICO Santa Fe in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The event will continue through Sunday, August 18 when it will culminate with the $50,000 CSI2* Grand Prix.

Now in its fifth year, the SRJT is renowned for revolutionizing the sport of show jumping in the U.S. and creating an “Unparalleled Show Jumping Experience.” Modeled after successful European shows, the SRJT gives competitors, sponsors and spectators an “Unparalleled Show Jumping Experience” by hosting competitions with world-class venues, top prize money, extravagant awards, special entry packages, and numerous first-class amenities for riders, horses, owners, sponsors, and spectators, with close attention paid to every detail. The SRJT is presenting six FEI shows at five world-class venues as part of its 2019 Tour.

Wednesday’s schedule featured seven classes including the $2,500 1.40m speed class. Claiming top honors in the one-round 1.40m class was Christian Heineking on Cento Blue. Placing second was Sarah Williams on Foxxy with third going to Mexico’s Nicolas Pizzaro on Calstarra Denfe.

The Hyaluronex FEI jog was also held on Wednesday prior to Thursday’s first FEI class. There were 42 horses presented at the Hyaluronex FEI jog in anticipation of the week’s FEI classes which will be on Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
The Santa Fe International CSI2* is hosting a variety of national and international level show jumping classes ranging in height from .85m to 1.45m with divisions for young horses, children/adult, junior/amateur and top professionals. Featured classes in the Main Stadium include:
  • Thursday, August 15 – $9,000 1.40m FEI Speed Cup
  • Friday, August 16 – $35,000 CSI2* 1.45m Welcome Class
  • Saturday, August 17 – $10,000 1.35m Prix National
  • Sunday, August 18 – $5,000 Mini Prix 1.25m & $50,000 CSI2* Grand Prix 1.45m

The 2019 Split Rock Jumping Tour features six FEI showsat five world-class venues including the Kentucky Horse Park and Split Rock Farm in Lexington, Kentucky; Sonoma Horse Park in Sonoma, California; Brave Horse Show Park in Columbus, Ohio; and HIPICO Santa Fe in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Its culminating event, the Longines FEI World Cup Qualifier Jumping Columbus CSI3*-W, is one of just 14 events in the Longines FEI World Cup™ North American League that will help determine which North American riders will qualify to go to the 2020 Longines FEI World Cup™ Finals in Las Vegas, Nevada next April.
