Annville, PA — February 29, 2016 — The St. Christopher’s Horse Show is set to return to Swan Lake Stables in Littlestown, PA, May 11-15. St. Christopher’s hosts hunter-jumper competition at one of the premier hunter-jumper facilities in the Northeast.
Swan Lake Stables is located on 300 carefully-managed acres in south-central Pennsylvania just 45 miles from Harrisburg, 50 miles from Baltimore and 90 miles from Washington D.C. The riding arenas at Swan Lake are filled with beautiful jumps and are complete with well-maintained footing; riders’ show experience is one they never forget. The facility provides St. Christopher’s exhibitors with ample space for riding, and up-to-date stabling for the equine athletes.

“We are so happy to be hosting the show at Swan Lake Stables again this year!” said Annette Longenecker of Ryegate Show Services, producer of the St. Christopher Horse Shows. “We received rave reviews from the riders, trainers, sponsors and spectators regarding the past two shows there and we can’t wait to see everyone again this year.”

The 2016 St. Christopher’s Horse Show will offer USEF National “A” Hunters/ 3* Jumpers, USHJA National Hunter Derby, USHJA Pre-Green Incentive Stake and multiple hunter classics. All traditional A & C-rated hunter sections will be offered along with Junior Hunter 3’3″. The tradition of offering the Hunter Breeding division will continue.
The Jumper Ring will offer a Regional $25,000 Grand Prix as well as qualifying classes for the Young Jumpers Championships. The jumper divisions will include Adult-Amateur, Junior/Amateur-Owner, Children’s jumpers plus a Schooling Jumper section.

The equitation divisions will offer medal classes for juniors and adults including ASPCA Horsemanship, Taylor Harris National Children’s Medal, Pessoa/US Hunter Seat Medal, and Ariat National Adult Medal. The equitation division will also include a lead line and a walk-trot division.
This year’s hunter judges are Diana Carney of Antioch, IL., Jenny Fischer of Montgomery, NY and Dee Thomas of Wellington, FL. Hunter course designer is Alan Lohman of Poolesville, MD who has designed courses for Pin Oak Charity Horse Show, Pennsylvania National, Vermont Summer Festival and Devon. FEI International Jumper course designer is Anderson Lima of Brazil who has designed courses for HITS, Blenheim EquiSports, Colorado Horse Park and USHJA Children’s and Adult Amateur Jumper Regional Championships.
St. Christopher’s Horse Show is a member event for the Pennsylvania Horse Show Association, Eastern Pennsylvania chapter of Professional Horseman’s Association and Maryland Horse Show Association. The show provides an opportunity for competitors to gain points towards year-end standing with featured classes for the North American League (NAL), Marshall & Sterling (M&S) and Washington International Horse Show (WIHS).
St. Christopher’s Horse Show is also part of the TAKE2 Second Career Thoroughbred Program, a program developed by the New York Thoroughbred Horseman’s Association, along with the New York Racing Association and New York Thoroughbred Breeders Inc. The goal of the program is to offer new opportunities for off the track Thoroughbreds, as well as promoting the use of the breed in competition.
