The first of the jumpers came out yesterday at the Washington International Horse Show and the competition did not disappoint. Awards were given for the $10,000 Junior and Adult Jumper Championships, where Stephanie King rose to the top of the 16 entries in the Adult division aboard Co-Starr. The fastest of nine double-clear efforts, King and the 11-year-old Belgian Warmblood delivered an outstanding final round to seal the deal at 27.175 seconds.
Meanwhile the hunters were still going strong throughout the day and Lindsay Maxwell made a clean sweep of the AO 35 & Under 3’3″ Hunter division with blue ribbons in all phases, resulting in a champion title for her mount Belgravia. Watch as the duo navigate the course in stylish form.
So it’s the jumpers versus the hunters in today’s WIHS feature. We are curious as to which trip you prefer: the swift and quick jumper course or the timelessly elegant hunter round. Cast your vote below!
