Brightly colored silks, teeny tiny ponies and jockeys ready to do whatever it takes to come out on top: shetland steeplechasing is the bomb. Seriously, tell me something that is so adorable (hello, one of the ponies is named Quick Draw McGraw) and so kick-butt… I’ll wait. These kiddos didn’t hold back last night at the Washington International Horse Show Shetland Pony Steeplechase Championships. From the get-go they were on fire, with two ponies taking and holding an immediate lead. But this isn’t the last we will see of these little firecrackers this week at WIHS. Shetland steeplechasing returns to the big ring this Saturday!
