From Trying to Buying to Flying: An Instagram Story in 4 Acts

First, there’s the trying out period, where you just have to sit on a few dozen animals and see what you like and what you don’t like:

So excited to be trying horses! I tried a few of my trainer's friend's sale horses and loved these two. The first one jumps hard and I haven't ridden anything with a jump like that since Irie so I'm pretty out of shape and had a hard time staying with him. He jumps exactly like his sire though who also jumps pretty hard and is one of the well known Holsteiner stallions. The last clip is of the other horse I really liked, he was really honest and had lots of mileage. It's been fun sitting on different horses, but also challenging trying horses with potential when I haven't had to push myself physically in a while. Looking forward to vetting something soon and finally getting back into shape and showing!

Then comes the phase where you’re still dating other horses, but your InstaThoughts just keep coming back to that one special someone:

And finally, pending vet inspections, clearing of checks, and one epic surprise planning sesh between parents and trainer, you get the horse with the big red bow, a theme song, and your first jumping lesson as Best Friends Forever:

Can't wait to see what the future has in store for Luci and i!! She's a 16 yr old Holsteiner, originally from Argentina. She's hot and looooves to jump, which is very different from all the others i've ridden in the past so i'm still getting used to her! // So thankful to my trainer, Bethany, for finding her and planning out the entire surprise as well as my parents for making this possible!! 😌😌
