Can you even fathom the frequent flyer miles that FEI Show Jumpers rack up in the course of their lifetimes? It’s not just that they fly from show to show every week, as if they’re going from Denver to Minneapolis like most business travelers; they’re flying from Paris to Los Angeles, Amsterdam to Beijing. And they’re doing it virtually every week. It’s impressive! A handful of riders just skipped upstate from LA to Sacramento this week after completing the Longines Masters to compete in the Sacramento International, which must have been a nice respite from the 11-hour flights.

Sacramento International

The Sacramento International’s big class this weekend is a CSI3* boasting some pretty solid names. Among them: Georgina Bloomberg, Audrey Coulter, Kent Farrington, Rich Fellers, Nayel Nassar, last year’s Sacramento Grand Prix winner Samuel Parot, Richard Spooner, Jack Towell and Jessica Springsteen.

Capital Challenge

The Capital Challenge is in full swing with hunter classes already rolling and lots more action to come. While it may not boast huge money, it’s one of the most illustrious and prestigious events on the traditional hunter circuit, and this year has attracted the talents of hunter royalty like Kelley Farmer and Scott Stewart, among others.

China League Final:

The China league is a bit of a hop skip and a jump out of our everyday wheelhouse, but they’re packing a big punch this weekend with an FEI World Cup Jumping League Final CSI3* this weekend. Among the entrants are France’s Roger Yves-Bost,  Britain’s Laura Renwick, and numerous up-and-coming and legendary Chinese show jumpers eager to lay claim to a share of the World Cup pie.
