We think it is safe to say that the Longines Global Champions League is making show jumping sexy again. The second stop of the LGCT set on the gorgeous backdrop of Miami Beach was nothing short of exhilarating. Course designer Uliano Vezzani created magnificent, but tricky courses that proved challenging for some of the GCL teams throughout the weekend.
Deep into the competition on day one, not a single rider had yet to deliver a clear round and fans were on the edge of their seats. Leopold van Asten of the Scandinavian Vikings was the first to successfully navigate the course, which put his team into the lead for the time being.
Inspired by their competition’s success, the Monaco Aces duo of Jerome Guery and Julian Epaillard rode into the ring with dogged determinate and delivered a double clear round. You can read more about their triumph HERE.

As the second day of GCL action rolled around, each team was ready to come in hot and earn their spot on the podium. It was the Prague Lions who would deliver explosive rounds to secure the first place position with only a single time fault for both Anna Kellnerova and Gerco Schröder.
Valkenswaard United soared to the top of the leader board on Saturday from 9th place to 2nd thanks to some excellent rounds put in by Bertram Allen and Alberto Zorzi. The Monaco Aces rounded out the podium in 3rd.
Paired with their podium placing in Mexico City, Valkenswaard United have a hold on the lead for the tournament so far with the Prague Lions and Miami Celtics following behind.
