For the second year in a row, Laura Connaway, of Connaway & Associates Equine Insurance, will present a special award to the American-bred horse who earns the highest scoring round in the professional hunter divisions at the Capital Challenge Horse Show running September 25 through October 4 and held this year at the World Equestrian Center in Wilmington, Ohio.

“As a passionate sport horse breeder myself, I am honored to once again work with the Capital Challenge Horse Show to recognize the accomplishments of fellow breeders in the U.S. and Canada,” said Connaway, who competes in the grand prix show jumping divisions as an amateur with her homebreds. “I look forward to recognizing North American breeders and the achievements of American-bred horses at this year’s show.”
The winner of the inaugural award in 2019 was Monday Balous, piloted by Cassandra Kahle and co-owned by Don Stewart and Emil Spadone of Redfield Farm. The 11-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding was bred by Karin Morgenstern Jimenez and Carlos Jimenez, DVM, of Sporting Chance Farm in Coatesville, Pennsylvania.

Horses competing in a professional hunter division at the Capital Challenge Horse Show are eligible for the Connaway & Associates Equine Insurance Services, Inc. High Point American-Bred Horse Award providing that their breeding information is correct and up-to-date in the horse show office.
This year, the High-Point American-Bred Horse Award will be presented on Friday evening, October 2, 2020, prior to the popular $10,000 WCHR Pro Finals competition.
