Olympian Anne Kursinski to Host Fall Rutledge Farm Sessions Clinic

Show jumping Olympian and renowned trainer Anne Kursinski will be hosting an exclusive one-day clinic as a part of the Rutledge Farm Sessions clinic series. Hosted at Rutledge Farm in Middleburg, Virginia and offered to riders of all skill levels, Kursinski’s clinic will be the first of Rutledge Farm’s 2020 in-person events following a successful virtual clinic with eventing champion Boyd Martin. Kursinski’s clinic will take place Saturday, November 21, and riding spots are available on a first come, first served basis.

Kursinski brings with her decades of experience in the equestrian industry. She is a five-time show jumping Olympian decorated with two team silver medals, and her list of accolades also includes individual and team gold at the Caracas, Venezuela Pan-American Games. Most recently, Kursinski was inducted into the Show Jumping Hall of Fame in 2017. In addition to her success in the competition ring, Kursinksi also has a passion for training and developing talented young athletes in the sport. Kursinski is a USHJA clinician, Chef d’Equipe for the U.S. Show Jumping Development program and she has an instructional site filled with accessible educational content called Riding and Jumping Mentor.

“I love to help people with their horses and share my experience with people, no matter what level rider they are, and help them to be a better rider,” explained Kursinski. “In the clinic I always stress position and body awareness. Then, through your position and your aides, how to communicate better with your horses. No matter if you are an equitation rider, a grand prix rider or a hunter rider – it’s the communication, the relationship with your horse, that makes you a more successful rider.”

Kursinski’s one-day clinic will offer spots for a total of 16 riders separated into four groups based on jump height. The first group with be 3’6″ to Grand Prix, followed by 3’3″. The afternoon session will begin with the 3′ section followed by the 2’6″ session.  If there is overwhelming demand, a limited number of additional spots can open up. Riders can look forward to improving their connection and relationship with their horses to help them be successful riders both in and out of the show ring.

Aleco Bravo-Greenberg, owner of Rutledge Farm, commented, “I am thrilled to once again be hosting clinics and to be able to offer a safe and fun solution to the lack of training opportunities that have been available this year. With all of the proper safety protocols in place, I think everyone will really enjoy what we have in store with Anne Kursinski. Along with her enormous success, Anne’s dedication to continuing education in the sport aligns perfectly with our passion for offering high-performance learning opportunities at the Rutledge Farm Sessions. I am looking forward to having her here for a clinic this fall!”
