Harrisburg, PA – October 21, 2016 — Jaime Auletto, who hails from Philadelphia, PA, and Carla, who is owned by her mother, Suzanne, were named Amateur Owner 3’3″ Grand Hunter Champion at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show presented by the Lindsey Maxwell Charitable Fund.
On their way to winning Grand Champion honors, Carla and Auletto won the Amateur Owner 3’3″ Hunter Riders 18-35 Years of Age Championship with first place in three of the over fences classes, two of them with scores of 90, and a win in the under saddle class.
“She is such a sweet horse, and actually she is my Mom’s,” said Auletto. “Mom had a very nice horse that she had all her life and after that Mom kept looking for one she could ride. She came down to Florida and saw Carla and loved her, she had such a sweet face, and Mom loves a mare. So she went and tried her and it went well, they were so cute together riding around in this big field, and so she got her. Mom gets on her and trots around and she just pokes her nose out and is so sweet. Mom doesn’t want to show so it was even better, because I get to show her.
“This win is great! I’ve only shown her six times. We just got off the wait list last week. That she will come here and walk right in and be so good is amazing. She is only 9, she was imported from Europe but I don’t know much more about what she has done. I was really happy that this indoors went so smoothly, a lot of times the first trip indoors doesn’t. But she just walked in like nothing and got a first. I am so proud of her.”

Reserve Champion in the Amateur Owner 3’3″ Hunter Riders 18-35 Years of Age Championship was Nikki Diamantis, Tallahassee, FL, and her 7 year-old gelding Castle.
The Amateur Owner 3’3″ Hunter Riders 36 and Over Championship went to Amy Lloyd Thompson and Paramount. They took top honors in this very popular, and hotly contested division by winning three of the four over fences classes offered.

“I started leasing him about three years ago,” said Thompson. “And I just knew he was my ride, I just had to have this horse, so I bought him. He is called “The Prince” because he is very special. He has got the best personality, he is super kind, and he goes out and is the same horse every single time. For me, that consistency is the thing. I rode up until I was 14, then had to take a break because I had back surgery for scoliosis. I am not supposed to be riding at all. So it is really important to have a really good horse.
“We have been building our partnership and this is the best I have ever done. We came together today. I have a lot of people to thank for this because it is a big team behind him. I work full time, and everyone at the office was watching the live feed. They don’t know anything about horses so I kept getting these texts that say ‘This is really cool to watch’. I had that in my head when I walked in the ring, that I had to do it for the horse because I had all these people watching.”
The Reserve Championship was awarded to Glen Senk of New York, NY and Fashion Farm’s Loyalty.
