Bertram Allen’s Quiet Easy arrives in Hong Kong. PC: Longines Masters
Earlier this week, 53 of the world’s best horses arrived in Hong Kong for the final leg of the Longines Masters. The mounts arrived on a world class Etihad Cargo Boeing 777 Freighter, who flew in custom-designed stalls and accompanied by their grooms.
Among the stars headed to the Masters of Hong Kong is last year’s Longines Grand Prix winner Marco Kustcher’s stallion Van Gogh, Bertram Allen’s Quiet Easy, Daniel Deusser’s mare Equita Van’t Zorgvliet – winner of the Longines Grand Prix in Los Angeles – and Simon Delestre’s ride Chesall Zimequest, the World Breeding Federation for Sports Horses’ highest rated show jumper for 2016.
While there is a cornucopia of top riders in attendance, the U.S. contingency is missing in action at the final Masters leg with so many top shows going on stateside this weekend. Another three-star weekend at HITS Coachella will have the full attention of west coast riders, and the first five-star weekend in Wellington will be the highlight of the Winter Equestrian Festival for east coast riders and fans. And of course major circuits continue at HITS Ocala and Tucson, the World Equestrian Center, and at The Ridge Wellington.
