Beezie Madden had a spectacular week in Dublin last week with her Nations Cup performance aboard Darry Lou, and she’s keeping the hot streak alive in Valence France this week with a win aboard Breitling LS, her superstar 11-year-old owned by Abigail Wexner.
The two fended of a slew of World Class competitors, beating out a strong showing by Italian Emanuele Gaudiano aboard Chalou by nearly a full second to take the win. Ben Maher was third, which just 2/100s of a second separating him and Emanuele.
Breitling LS has been on fire this summer, winning a class at Aachen in July, a big class at Spruce Meadows in June, and a two-star at Old Salem Farm in May.
The win Thursday night guarantees Beezie and Breitling a spot in the Grand Prix this weekend, and we’ll certainly be rooting them on!
Reed Kessler and Tradition de la Roque also had a good showing on day one of Valence, having just one rail down on the 10-year-old mare to sit just outside the top 20.
