The Traverse City Horse Shows, LLC (TCHS) team is pleased to announce that CaptiveOne Advisors, LLC will be returning in 2020 with an extended sponsorship as a full-season sponsor of all of the show jumping events at Flintfields Horse Park. An industry leader in captive insurance management, CaptiveOne made its first appearance at Flintfields Horse Park in 2019 as the presenting sponsor of the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival (GLEF), and the organization will be expanding its support of the Traverse City shows as the presenting sponsor of both GLEF and the new two-week Traverse City Fall Horse Show (TCF) this year. The 2020 calendar begins with the Traverse City Spring Horse Show (TCS), presented by Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel, taking place June 3-21*, followed by GLEF from July 1 – Aug. 9, and finally by TCF from Sept. 2-13, 2020.

“We are pleased to welcome CaptiveOne back to Traverse City after an amazing summer together in 2019. Thanks to their partnership and support we are able to expand our competition calendar at Flintfields Horse Park this year and to continue to make investments and improvements to the events and venue that enhance the experience for all of our competitors,” commented Matt Morrissey, Event Director of Traverse City Horse Shows.
After a successful 2019 season that featured six weeks of equestrian action, TCHS is proud to welcome the addition of the Traverse City Spring Horse Show and the Traverse City Fall Horse Show to the circuit, bringing the total number of competition weeks in Traverse City to 11. As the presenting sponsor of both GLEF and TCF, CaptiveOne will have a significant presence throughout the Traverse City horse shows, which include a number of CaptiveOne-branded classes and initiatives.

In addition to serving as the title sponsor for both the $137,000 Grand Prix CSI3*, which will be the grand finale of GLEF Week Six, and the $213,300 Grand Prix CSI4* during the second week of TCF, CaptiveOne will also be spearheading the $30,000 Leading Rider Award. The coveted rider bonus will be presented to the rider who accumulates the most points in competitions $25,000 or more in prize money over the course of 11 weeks of riding in Traverse City. In 2019, the series award was earned by Canada’s Jim Ifko, who sealed victory and the prize bonus thanks to his win in the $133,700 CaptiveOne Advisors Great Lakes Grand Prix CSI3*, the final show jumping class of the GLEF season.
Continuing its philanthropic work from 2019, CaptiveOne will once again sponsor the “Clear for a Cause” campaign to benefit JustWorld International, a not-for-profit organization that transforms the lives of children in impoverished communities by funding education and nutrition programs. Every time both the JustWorld International and the CaptiveOne jumps are cleared throughout the six-week GLEF circuit, money will be donated to support Just World International’s cause. In 2019, the exceptional efforts of horses and athletes raised $22,800.

As part of its continued commitment to exhibitors, TCHS will be implementing Show+, an innovative stabling protection plan for horses stabled at Flintfields Horse Park during the 2020 event. While on the show grounds, every horse registered to compete will be protected under GLEF’s plan, which is designed to provide accident benefits should a horse suffer an injury.
“It was a no-brainer for CaptiveOne to return to Traverse City in 2020 after a wonderful start to our partnership with the Traverse City Horse Shows team in 2019,” commented Wayne Jenkins, founder of CaptiveOne Advisors, LLC. “The expansion of the series into three seasons and the horse park’s prime location makes it a perfect choice for exhibitors, and we are so happy to be able to be a part of it. These shows are some of the most well-liked in the country and we hope we can contribute to their continued growth. This is a relationship we think will be fruitful for years to come.”
