Desert Circuit 2021 Prize List Released

Desert International Horse Park (DIHP) is pleased to announce the release of their 2021 Desert Circuit Prize List, featuring five weeks of FEI classes, one week of World Champion Hunter Rider (WCHR) competition, and the $100,000 WCHR West Coast Hunter Spectacular.

The eight weeks of the winter circuit will run as a USEF Premier “AA” Hunter Rating. Weeks I, III, and VIII will run as a USEF Jumper Rating 5* and Weeks II, IV, V, and VI will run as a USEF Jumper Rating 6*. Weeks II, III, V, and VI feature FEI CSI3* classes and Week VIII will feature FEI CSI4* classes and is a WCHR week.

“We’re incredibly excited about our expanded Hunter and Jumper programs this Desert Circuit, our premier circuit,” noted Steve Hankin, President and CEO of DIHP. “On the Hunter side, Week IV and VII each feature a $50,000 USHJA International Derby, and Week VIII DIHP will host the $100,000 WCHR West Coast Hunter Spectacular. We see Week VII and VIII emerging as two truly distinctive shows given the unprecedented prize money and unique competition offered.”

“We are running five weeks of FEI and have redesigned our FEI Program to be much more cost effective,” shared Hankin. “This will run parallel with a strong National program featuring more prize money for the National Grand Prix and the 1.35m and 1.40m Open Jumper Classics.”

Alongside the larger highlight classes, DIHP has brought back some of the popular classes, including the 2’-2’3” Child/Adult Hunter Derby, the 2’6”-2’9” Child/Adult Hunt & Go Derby, the $2,000 Pro/Am Low Hunter Challenge, and a Family Class. Week VI also introduces a new $1,000 DIHP Under Saddle Championship and a $10,000 Nations Cup Hunter Team Challenge.

“We’ve worked really hard to make sure there is something for everyone and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone back to our desert home come January,” Hankin notes.
