Tom Struzzieri, owner of HITS, has provided an update on the HITS Great American Summer Series. HITS received a stop order from the state of New York yesterday — it was ordered to NOT run the Vermont Summer Special July 2-5.
Watch the video below for an update. Here is a summary of key points:
HITS Saugerties
- The Vermont Summer Special horse show will NOT run today through Sunday, July 5. Tom is fighting to do feature classes on Monday, July 6 so competitors can still have a chance to earn prize money and have the opportunity to show.
- Going forward, shows CAN run. New York has stated that horse shows are not restricted starting July 6, providing that this COVID-19 protocol is followed.
- The Great American Summer Series therefore will still run, but it will be for five weeks total, not six.
