Get Ready for the Diamond Mills & Platinum Performance Hunter Prix Finals –
Two of the Richest Hunter Classes in the World
The 11th annual HITS Championship will take place at HITS-on-the-Hudson, Saugerties, New York, September 8-12, 2021, and will feature two of the richest Hunter Classes in the world, the Diamond Mills $250,000 Hunter Prix Final and Platinum Performance $100,000 Hunter Prix Final. The prize money is guaranteed and there are no nomination fees or qualifying requirements necessary to compete in these classes.
“These classes are really made possible by our sponsors,” said Tom Struzzieri, President and CEO of HITS. “With their support we’ve been able to make these classes happen without riders having to pay nomination fees and we look forward to hosting these classes for years to come.”
Many of the top riders in the sport plan their summer around the Hunter Prix Finals in Saugerties and now it’s your chance to do the same. Although riders do not need to qualify for the Finals, competing in qualifying classes throughout the year at HITS Ocala, HITS Saugerties, HITS Culpeper, HITS Chicago and the Vermont Summer Festival will give riders an advantage in the order of go, and determine which riders are eligible to ride two horses. Complete specifications will be available soon.
“I spend all summer at HITS Saugerties, but my favorite week is definitely the week of the HITS Championship. We work very hard to get our horses prepared for this week of competition especially for these big prize money classes. The prize money that HITS so generously offers is great! The competition is exciting and it’s all for a great reward. I can’t wait for this year!”
– Emil Spadone, Owner and Trainer of Redfield Farm
“We always look forward to showing at the HITS Championship and being able to compete there is a very special feeling. During this week they make the Outside Course in Saugerties bigger which feels like showing in a new ring and in the Final Round we are featured in the Grand Prix Stadium, which is something we don’t get to do often, so that’s also special. We never get a chance to jump for this kind of Prize Money so we work very hard to have our horses prepared for this week. Everyone brings their best horses because this is the best prize money!”
– Patricia Griffith, Professional Rider for Heritage Stables
