Join the Great Charity Challenge presented by Fidelity Investments and Equestrian Sport Productions in #GivingTuesdayNow

The Great Charity Challenge presented by Fidelity Investments® (GCC) and Equestrian Sport Productions (ESP) invite you to take part in today’s global initiative #GivingTuesdayNow by supporting your favorite local charity. Throughout the last seven days, the GCC and ESP have shared the stories of various Palm Beach County based nonprofit organizations on social media in order to raise awareness and funds for the crucial work each one performs. Organizations were selected based on those included in Palm Beach County’s Emergency Giving Guide and from nominations received throughout the week.

“In this time of unprecedented uncertainty, I’m heartened and inspired by the unity of our community especially at a grass roots level” comments GCC co-founder, Paige Bellissmo. “I encourage everyone who is able to participate in #GivingTuesdayNow to support local organizations and amplify their impact.”

While many have heard of Giving Tuesday, a global effort to mobilize funding which typically happens the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, a new initiative called #GivingTuesdayNow was announced to take place on May 5, 2020. This movement is “a way to focus the world’s generosity on the often-forgotten organizations working behind the scenes to support those fighting the COVID-19 crisis.” For more details on the movement, click here.

“From food security to ensuring that no child is left behind in their education and much more, charities are the ones stepping up to provide for the well-being of the most vulnerable and the most affected during this crisis” adds GCC Executive Director, Anne Caroline Valtin. “The reality is that many of them are currently facing an increase in demand for services, while also dealing with significant disruptions in their fundraising efforts. This new initiative is truly an invitation for communities to unite and stand with these local heroes.”
