Karrie Rufer rode Mr. Europe to victory in the $25,000 Hyaluronex National Prix at the Split Rock Jumping Tour’s (SRJT) Sonoma International. The Split Rock Jumping Tour’s (SRJT) Sonoma International, operating under COVID-19 protocols and guidelines, will run through Sunday, August 6.

Out of a starting field of 38 horses, Rufer was one of six to reach the tiebreaking jump-off by riding without penalty over the 15-jump, first-round course designed by 2016 Olympic course designer Guilherme Jorge. Five entries turned in another clean round over the 8-jump, jump-off course with Rufer claiming the win with the fastest time of 37.166 seconds. Placing second was Kyle King with zero faults in 39.414 seconds on Enzo with third going to Kaitlin Campbell who finished with zero faults in 39.593 seconds on Palina de L’Escaut.

Friday’s schedule also featured the $5,000 Morning Star 1.35m Winning Round class which was won by Mark Kinsella on Quite An Art and the $1,000 Vitalize 1.30m Junior/Amateur Speed Class which was won by Cameron Brown on Flinton M.

Split Rock Jumping Tour Founder and CEO Derek Braun praised the event’s exhibitors, officials and staff for their cooperation in following the event’s protocols and guidelines, allowing the event to proceed successfully.
“The safety of our exhibitors and everyone involved is always our top priority,” Braun said, “and we will continue to emphasize the need to closely follow all protocols and guidelines put forth by the CDC and USEF. I commend everyone here for the effort they are putting in to ensure that our horse show proceeds in a manner that is safe for all.”
The Sonoma International is hosting a full schedule of show jumping classes ranging in height from .85m to 1.45m with divisions for young horses, children/adult, junior/amateur and top professionals. The weekend schedule includes the $20,000 Restylane® 1.35m National Prix on Saturday, August 5 and the week’s culminating event, the $50,000 Restylane® Grand Prix on Sunday, August 6. Other highlights include the $5,000 Horseflight 1.40m Junior/Amateur Final, $5,000 Animo Youngster Bowl and $2,500 Morning Star 1.25m Mini Prix, all on Sunday.
