Kentucky Spring Horse Show Kicks Off Tuesday With Successful FEI Jog

The Kentucky Horse Park welcomed horses and athletes for the first week of the Kentucky Spring Horse Show CSI3* series, spanning from May 7-19. Tuesday’s FEI jog saw 120 horses pass the inspection for soundness to contest the weekend’s international competition at the Kentucky Spring Horse Show.

Week one, the Kentucky Spring Horse Show, runs Wednesday, May 8, through Sunday, May 12, with the main event, the $134,000 Kentucky Summer Grand Prix CSI3*, scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, in the Rolex Stadium.

Wednesday will welcome the first day of hunter/jumper competition and will feature the $36,000 Welcome Speed. Thursday will host the first of the seven-part Hagyard Challenge Series, the $36,000 Hagyard Lexington Classic at 5:30 p.m. in the Rolex Stadium.

As a WCHR Member Event, hunters will take center stage on Sunday in the Stonelea Ring with the $10,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby and the $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby. Additional jumper highlights include the featured national classes on Sunday with the $35,000 Commonwealth Grand Prix and the $15,000 Under 25 Grand Prix.

The Kentucky Spring Classic will follow with the second week of CSI3* competition from May 14-19, highlighting the $134,000 Mary Rena Murphy Grand Prix on Saturday, May 18, at 5:30 p.m. in the Rolex Stadium.
