Prisma Progresses to Semifinals of BioPitch at 23rd Annual BioFlorida Conference

BioFlorida conducts an annual pitch competition among companies that are developing products in life sciences or health care, including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, diagnostics, health care IT, health care services and plant/animal sciences. The competition provides a platform for some of Florida’s most innovative companies and the opportunity to pitch to life science investors. Prisma, an equine veterinary imaging company that has successfully developed a full-body CT and radiographic system, has progressed to the semifinal phase of the BioPitch competition.

The contest accepted an initial 50 entrants and 12 companies, including Prisma, were selected for the next round of presentations Oct. 26-28. As a feature event of the BioFlorida Conference, the final three most promising startups companies will present Oct. 29 and a winner will be selected.

“We are very excited that Prisma has been selected to participate in the semi-finals in this competition since it further validates the industry’s recognition of the value and innovation of the technology that Prisma has developed,” said Michael Silver, founder and chief executive officer of Prisma. “Win or lose, participating in this event will provide valuable experience and exposure for Prisma.”

Prisma has a signed term sheet and lead investment from  Florida Funders, an early-stage angel funding organization that focuses on investing in Florida-based companies with promising, innovative technology. Prisma also secured an investment from its primary service provider, Triple Ring Technologies. Silver and his team are seeking additional investors to support the system’s finalization and to initiate commercial sales.
