Watching the showjumping portion of the World Equestrian Games at the Tryon International Equestrian Center, you never would’ve guessed that just days before the facility was rocked with torrential downpours thanks to the aftermath of Hurricane Florence. The arena was in pristine condition as riders from all over the globe gave the course designed by Alan Wade their best shot on the first day of the showjumping showdown.
It was Steve Guerdat who would claim the first victory of the week putting the Swiss team at the top of the leader board with his flawless round aboard Bianca.
