The Ridge Farm was founded in 1974 as a training, boarding, and sales facility in Tewksbury, New Jersey. Conceptualized by US Olympian Nona Garson and George D’Ambrosio, the operation was divided into The Ridge at Wellington, The Ridge at Riverview, and The Ridge at Tewksbury to cater to seasonal clients and better manage its growing show series.

The Wellington, Florida branch serves as its winter training base and home of the Palm Beach Series, which includes Hunter Derby Days, USEF Equitation Tuesdays, the Turf Tour, and full divisions for hunters, jumpers, and equitation riders each winter. The Ridge at Tewksbury focuses on boarding, training, and sales, offering world class instruction for riders and horses of all levels overseen by US Olympian Nona Garson and is the home base for The Ridge’s IEA Team.

The Ridge at Riverview is the northern base for The Ridge’s spring, summer, and fall show series, which include Spring Series I & II, Summer Spectacular I & II, the Asbury Classic, and a variety of rated and schooling shows. Riverview is also Nona’s hub of operation, where she offers international competition consulting as well as advanced training and competition coaching.

Over the years The Ridge has trained numerous Pony Finals Champions, Young Rider Gold Medalists, and winning Grand Prix riders, as well as state and national champions in hunters, jumpers, and equitation divisions. Horses selected and trained by Nona and her team have been winners at top national shows such as Devon, Washington, The National, and the Winter Equestrian Festival.

Nona has represented the United States at every major championship in the sport. She has ridden for the US in over 20 Nations Cup competitions in 15 countries, and won her place on every USEF Championship team through the objective selection process of the time, beating out hundreds of riders vying for a spot on these coveted teams. The Ridge, under Nona’s guidance, has selected and/or trained multiple horses that have gone on to compete at the Olympic Games and World Cup Finals.

Channeling this international experience into an effective training and coaching system, as well as a series of horse-centered shows catered for a variety of riders from leadline through the Grand Prix, The Ridge, comprised of Nona and a staff of professional equestrians, accepts a limited number of new clients each year into its program. With the knowledge and experience to train horses and riders for every phase of competition and the equestrian industry, The Ridge’s long history of wins and successes is a testament to its vision and dedication to bringing out the best in horse and rider.
