Swanky Saddle Co. Faces Hurricane Head On and Continues to Stylishly Slay

Swanky Saddle Company’s Jodi Schlinkmann doesn’t mince words about exactly what they’ve gone through in the past month.

“All I can say is the news is not telling you how bad ground zero truly is. It is literally a war zone,” Jodi told me just days after Hurricane Irma slammed Swanky Saddle’s base in the Florida Keys. “Our house is standing and intact, but the inside is a complete demo with immense water damage and mold. We’re just going day by day.”

Jodi tells me they’ll likely live in an RV until they can get their home and workshop serviceable again, but within 72 hours of the storm hitting, she was already back to mailing out orders and responding to customer requests – essentially as soon as the postal service and (some) power came back online.

What causes such an immense drive to keep business moving? Jodi seems to genuinely love what she does: Bringing a little sparkle and distinction to equestrians everywhere.

“I consider myself unique and have always been drawn to things a little out of the ordinary,” says Jodi. “Putting my love of horses together with the desire to stay current and sharing my ideas with friends and other equestrians, Swanky Saddle Co. came to life.”

Now, her successful business endeavor provides numerous types of pizzazz to equestrians: From custom belt buckles that can feature your barn logo to monogrammed saddle plates that show your personality in the classiest of ways, Swanky Saddle brings a little joy to everything it touches.

They’ve long been known for their saddle plates which attach to the back of your cantle, and come in a variety of styles, metal finishes, and sizes. They’re subtle enough for the hunter ring, but bold enough to stand out in the jumpers. (And certainly will help prevent the all too common barn borrowing excuse of “Oh, is that your CWD? I didn’t realize…”)

Newer in their offerings are whole team apparel packages for the whole barn: From custom puffer vests to sleek long sleeve tees, you can get your logo and barn name added practically anywhere to anything, and have your whole team sporting their unified pride.
