Wellington, FL – December 30, 2015 – On Jan. 6, The Ridge at Wellington Turf Tour Series returns to the Wellington show scene, once again bringing tradition and top tier competition to varying equestrian estates across the horse-centric community. As one of the only shows to be held on the turf, the event has become the talk of the circuit, providing unparalleled hospitality and experience. The opening event, which is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, Jan. 6, and Friday, Jan. 8, will run at Schuyler Riley’s world-class show jumping facility, Wolfstone Stables and Sales, Inc., while the International Polo Club of Palm Beach (IPC) will gear up to host the Turf Tour during its second week, Jan. 13 and 15.

Other such venues for this year’s show include The Wanderer’s Club, a luxurious country club that is a staple in the equestrian community, and of course The Ridge Farm. The 12th and final week of the show will culminate at Tonkawa Farm, an elite polo facility in the heart of Wellington, on March 23 and 25.
Two rings will run simultaneously on both days, and there will be open cards, which afford trainers the opportunity to enter their horse and rider teams in the order-of-go as they please, keeping schedules running efficiently.
There will be low, medium and high schooling jumper classes designed to give riders and their mounts of all levels an opportunity to showcase their talents over technical tracks. The ever-popular 1.30m and 1.35m divisions will happen on each Wednesday concurrently.
Professionals and amateurs will both have an array of options to choose from, which include the Children/Adult, Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumpers, the 1.40m Grand Prix Series, and the Young Jumper Classic.
The Wellington Turf Tour has been hailed as the highlight of the season with top riders, amateurs and juniors alike, choosing to ride in the series, challenging their young horses to a new experience that complements the Winter Equestrian Festival. For the third year, the USHJA International and National Hunter Derbies will return onFebruary 5 and March 18 with $40,000 in total prize money to be awarded.

The on-call veterinarian practice is Wellington Equine Sports Medicine and the farrier, James Burrell, will be available for thrown shoes as well.
Meadowbrook Horse Transport will provide transportation to and from the horse show and other locations throughout Wellington for both the Wednesday and Friday events. The transportation is a nominal fee of $75 per horse, and will be calculated into the final show fees. THE RIDGE AT WELLINGTON HORSE SHOW SERIES FAST FACTS
The Ridge at Wellington Turf Tour offers their popular 1.40m Grand Prix for its fourth year, with an open in-gate format taking place once a week at beautiful venues throughout Wellington. The Ridge at Wellington Grand Prix Finale will take place March 25, 2016.
The Turf Tour also will host 1.30m-1.35m jumpers every Wednesday beginning Jan. 6, 2016 and running until March 23, 2016.
Young Jumper classes and both Children’s/Senior Jumper Classics will find their home intermittently throughout the Wellington Turf Tour, running concurrently with the 1.30-1.35m and 1.40m jumpers.
The Ridge at Wellington offers equitation shows every Tuesday of the month from Jan. 5-March 22, 2016. There will also be a series of schooling shows at The Ridge at Wellington for all experience levels.
Two USHJA National and International Hunter Derby events will take place Feb. 5, 2016 and March 18, 2016.
Activities start with The Ridge At Wellington’s first schooling show of the season on Dec. 12-13, 2015, recognized by Marshall Sterling & South Florida Medal Finals.
The Ridge at Wellington series includes several weeks of competition throughout the winter season with USEF-rated equitation shows. This winter will also feature five two-day schooling shows.
