Tryon International Equestrian Center: Summer Series Upgrades Announced

Tryon Summer 1 and Summer 2 Upgraded to AA Hunters/Level 6 Jumpers for 2020

Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC) at Tryon Resort has announced upgrades to the first two weeks of its summer series, which kicks off June 10, now including two weeks of Hunter AA and Jumper Level 6 competition to commence the six-week series.

The upgrades to both weeks of competition, approved by USEF, share over $400,000 in prize money. Feature classes each week include a $25,000 Regional Standard Wednesday Classic, $25,000 American Standard Welcome Stake, a $75,000 National Standard Grand Prix, and a $25,000 American Standard Sunday Classic.

Tryon Summer 1 (June 10-14) and Summer 2 (June 17-21) are followed by four weeks of CSI 2* and CSI 3* competition alongside Hunter AA and Level 6 Jumper offerings to complete the Tryon Summer Series. View the full revised 2020 competition calendar at Tryon Resort below.

For competitors at the upcoming shows, TIEC has released a few reminders:

Horse Shows Closed to the Public

To ensure that the reintroduction of horse shows is smooth, efficient, and most importantly, safe for all involved, TIEC horse shows are closed to the public until further notice, and only competitors, their families and staff are permitted at this time. Saturday Night Lights is cancelled through the end of summer and hopefully will resume for the fall competition series. That decision will be dependent upon state requirements.

Stabling

There is currently a waitlist for stabling for all shows in the Tryon Summer Series, but reservation requests are still being accepted here via the Stabling Request Form. The original $200 weekly stall rate will be honored for any existing stall reservations for Tryon Summer 1 and Tryon Summer 2. For questions, please contact stabling@tryon.com or call +1 (828) 863-1015.

Online Entries

Once stalls are confirmed, competitors will be able to enter classes online through ShowGroundsLive accounts on the Tryon website. If your stalls are not yet confirmed, please contact the stabling team at stabling@tryon.com before attempting to enter any classes online.

Lodging

Onsite lodging is available to competitors, their families and staff, with reservations available here.  One, three, and five-bedroom cabins are available in addition to limited remaining RV sites and rooms at the Stable House Inn.

Safety and Security

Stringent cleanliness and social distancing policies are in place for the protection of all Tryon Resort guests, competitors, and staff. Please read the full COVID-19 Action Plan here before arriving at TIEC.
