This weekend would have been what is touted as the “best weekend all year” – the Land Rover Kentucky 3-Day Event (LRK3DE). LRK3DE is the only 5* event in the USA. International horses and riders flock to Lexington, Kentucky to compete in dressage, cross-country, and show jumping as part of the Rolex Grand Slam of Eventing. The Grand Slam is an enormous cash prize awarded to any rider who consecutively wins LRK3DE, the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials, and the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials in Britain. Recently, an international Grand Prix show jumping competition was also added.
Though we’ll miss the competition this year due to COVID-19-related cancellation, we are living vicariously through our Virtual Vendor Village (check out Thursday’s deals here) and watch parties of past LRK3DE years. This particular show jumping round from 2019 is unique as it demonstrates Hylofit‘s heart rate monitor system, and spectators could view data in real-time – check it out to see how Erin Pullen and Foreign’s heart rates are affected!
