Most people know Doug Payne as a successful event rider, but in fact he spends a considerable amount of time in the jumper ring. One of his horses, Quintessence, started his career as an event horse but then transitioned into the show jumping world. At only nine years old in 2020, he had a very good season including a win at the $100,000 Grand Prix at HITS Ocala.
