We felt the smallest of horse show lulls as the school year got back under way on most continents, but now we’re moving into fall force with World Cup qualifiers, season finales, and the last of the resplendent outdoor shows in Europe. Get the full scoop on what’s in store this weekend below!
American Gold Cup at Old Salem Farm
One of the most historic and scenic events in North America, the American Gold Cup is back with another World Cup Qualifier and many of your favorites will be on hand for the fun. The confirmed FEI lineup includes McLain Ward, Beezie Madden, Christine McCrea, Margie Engle, Mario Deslauriers, and Brianne Goutal.
We’ll also a nice field of up and coming riders, including Jennifer Gates, Lucy Deslauriers, Eve Jobs, Georgina Bloomberg (who has been busy the past week rescuing animals like mad from Hurricane Irma, what a champ!) and Lauren Tisbo.
In addition to the world cup, there’s about a quarter of a million dollars worth of other prize money to be won, so it’s going to be a truly fun week to watch. Jumper Nation is an official media partner of the American Gold Cup, so we’ll have loads of custom content available to you all week!
Non-FEI classes will be broadcast on the American Gold Cup home page. FEI TV will air the FEI classes, which unfortunately means a subscription required, but we’re hoping they’ll make some of the classes available live on Facebook or YouTube. If so, we’ll be sure to let you know.

Lausanne, Switzerland CSI 5*
You may be wondering where last year’s defending Gold Cup champ Kent Farrington is, and he along with Laura Kraut and Lauren Hough are hoofing it across the pond to compete at the Longines Horse Show of Lausanne to test themselves against the European contingent. We know they’ll make us proud!

Blenheim Equisports Fall Tournament
Everything good about California just gets a little bit better in September: The weather, the shows, and now the coverage! We’re going to have a photographer on the ground this week at Blenheim to show you the sights, sounds, and of course the horses at this week’s tournament.
Competitors will be vying for a chance to go to Las Vegas in November for the Markel Insurance Grand Prix Series Final, the U25 Developing Rider Series Final, and the SJHOF JrAO Jumper West Coast Championships, among a slew of other fabulous classes.
