Weekly Sales Circuit: Big Jumpers with Babysitting Brains to Help You Out!

Whether you’re currently in the market for a new horse, casually thinking about your next partner, or creating a wish list of your dream horses, read on for some horses for sale that we love.

Featured this week are sale horses from Florida. We chose these horses for our wish list because they’ve done the big courses but happily can lope around a low level course — and most importantly, have amazing brains that can babysit you when needed, do the “add,” and get you out of a bind if you have a rider “operator error.”  What’s not to love?

Divergent

9 year-old 16.2h Warmblood gelding. Divergent was recently imported from Europe. With a long jumper record to 1.35m, he has tons of show experience. Within two weeks of his arrival, he showed at WEF in the Children’s hunters and equitation with a 14 year-old kid. He has the best brain and attitude. Slow, rhythmical, and smooth canter — making him easy to find the jumps on. He has a huge step and a completely auto change. Zero prep. Would be a great big eq, hunter or jumper for anyone, but especially someone wanting a confidence boosting partner. He is ready to move up to the 3’3″ juniors next week but could easily do 3’6″ and big eq.

Pavane

10 year-old 16.2h Warmblood mare. Perfect 1.20m jumper imported mare currently located in Florida, but she needs to relocate up north where it’s cooler.  Creative solutions are workable in the current situation.  Has 1.20m miles in Europe with an amateur; schooled 1.40m with a pro. She is the EASIEST horse on the planet to flat. You could do the TP roll challenge with her any day and win every time. You can even finish your Starbucks while you are cantering down the long side and not spill any of your latte. Has auto changes and goes in a snaffle. Over fences, she is the poster child of the dream jumper. She has enough blood to take you to the fence but will never pull or be strong. She is the queen of the “add.” No spook, no mare days, no buck, and no rear. Nothing phases this horse. She is safe enough for a w/t kid, or the nanna’s w/t kid.  Has a good vetting, no maintenance. Easy keeper.

Cougar

8 year-old 17h Selle Francais gelding. Imported Selle Francais ready to go and clean up in any ring. Most three-ring horses are jack of all trades who are average at everything, but Cougar is one of those freaks of nature who is actually good at everything and therefore can be successful in any discipline. Has shown in the jumpers in Europe up to the 1.40m and has schooled 1.55m courses. Loping around 3’9″ hunter courses.  Could easily step in the ring and take a rider to the Maclay finals, to dabble in the talent search, and of course we think he would excel in the international derbies.  If that wasn’t enough, he has a babysitting/long stirrup mode and will take care of any level rider and happily putz at the lower level. Clean x-rays and the sweetest personality (think Great Dane).  Only thing we could hold against him is that you can forget the whole social distancing 6 ft range. This boy is a real pocket pony.
