Weekly Sales Circuit: These TBs Know Their Job

When you’re still learning the ropes (actually, riding is a lifelong pursuit, so we’re all really still learning!), it’s often more fun and educational when you’re riding a mount that knows its job and can teach you a bit about jumping — and it never hurts when they have a good eye and can help you out in a pinch!  We found three Thoroughbreds who all are stellar at their jobs, know them in and out, and can help you continue learning low level jumping safely.  These horses are from Florida and New York.

Practically Perfect

2004 16.2h Thoroughbred mare. “Piper” is a 16 year old Thoroughbred mare that has plenty of miles left. She truly lives up to her name. Piper is perfect for a child coming off of ponies or a rider needing a confidence builder. Piper has an extensive show record in the low children/adults and has been competitive at WEF, HITS and Tryon. Located near Ocala, FL.

Legend

2008 17.0h Thoroughbred gelding. Legend is a big and beautiful gelding that would be the perfect mount for someone looking to show in the 2’6” hunter, equitation, or jumper rings. Truly a 3-ring horse, Legend requires no prep at shows and has his changes. Would be a great mount for an ambitious kid moving up from a pony, or for an adult looking for an incredibly fun mount! While Legend has schooled up to nearly 5’ at home, he seems much more comfortable showing at 2’6” and we would love to find him his perfect match!

2008 15.2h Thoroughbred mare. “Digger” is a 15.2h, 12 y/o Thoroughbred mare perfect for a rider looking to be extremely competitive in the jumper ring. Digger has taken multiple students from the 0.65m to the 1.0m jumpers and comes out with top ribbons at every show. She requires no prep. She has earned multiple year-end championships, along with most recently earning top ribbons up at HITS Saugerties. Her biggest win to date was being champion of the 2’6″ jumpers at the 2018 Thoroughbred Incentive Program National Championship at the Kentucky Horse Park. Digger is a barn favorite! She has no spook, is careful and handy to jump, quiet to hack, with a personality to match her talent. She is a little horse with a big heart ready for her next competitive rider. Digger is proudly offered for an on-site lease at North Fork Equestrian in Riverhead, NY, or possible off-site lease to the perfect situation.
